Tramp’s Rescue Animal Intake Policy Statement While Tramp’s rescue wishes we could help every animal brought to our attention, we are a small foster based rescue, and can only help when we have space and funds to safely, comfortably and appropriately take care of the dog or cat. We accept mostly dogs and puppies from Virginia animal controls, out-of-state animal controls, and private owner surrenders. If a stray animal is found, Tramp’s Rescue will only accept the animal once a found report has been submitted to the local animal control agency and the stray hold period is completed. When we are unable to physically intake the animal, we often offer our help in networking to find the animal an adoptive home or even another rescue. All of our animals receive all needed medical care - from the basics of spaying or neutering, Heartworm testing, de-worming, parasite control, and vaccinations, to any necessary further care for medical conditions of any kind. Once Tramp’s Rescue has an animal, we try our best to find the perfect forever home. If an animal is not adopted (or adoptable) for any reason - medical, behavioral, or just unable to find a qualified and caring adopter, the animals are cared for like family for the rest of their lives. We also stand by our animals, and by contract, accept back any previously adopted animal for whom the adopter is no longer willing or able to care.
