The in-care numbers listed for January 1, 2025 are not accurate based on our current records. At the end of 2024, NACC had recently transitioned from Chameleon to Petpoint software. We later discovered that some records for animals still in custody were not migrated from Chameleon to Petpoint. These files have since been entered into our current software. Because the intake dates pre-date 2025, 30 dogs and 174 cats have been represented as "Other" intakes. These files represent animals in foster care and would not have been flagged in a physical count of pets in the shelter. The physical count now includes a count of paper custody records in order to capture foster pets.

Additionally, 18 dogs, 11 cats, and 8 other companion animals born in care are listed in the "Other" category.
