Died in custody includes 8 puppies who died within days of birth to a very pregnant dog who gave birth in foster, all puppies had Failure to thrive and were split into fosters for bottle-feeding but all faded within days. Puppy was surrendered from property where NCACO seized numerous dogs and puppies who passed from parvo, and intestinal parasites. Mom was appx 7 months at time of giving birth, and heavily hookworm + amongst other health concerns.
1 puppy from a litter of 8 from Galax county who was 1/4 the size of siblings, was supplementally fed on intake however still passed within hours
1 other puppy was taken for seeming moderately lethargy to Tappahannock animal hospital and we decided to hospitalize for fluids, she passed overnight in veterinary care.
single euthanasia due to complications from geriatric spay, at advice of vet after 2-3 days of hospitalization.
no Virginia Agencies, 2 dogs were transferred to a senior and special needs sanctuary in NH "Old Dogs Go To Helen"
